Meet Emma, Unit Manager at Dearnevale
Unit Manager, Emma, started working at Dearnevale care home as a Health Care Assistant before retraining as a Nurse. Since then, she's progressed to Unit Manager and loves seeing the difference she makes.

I’m very proud of my career with Dearnevale.

After starting as a Health Care Assistant, I moved into a Team Leader role before deciding to push my career further and enroll onto a university course to become a Registered Nurse.

I was fully supported to do this and knew I would always have a place at Dearnevale no matter the role I was in.

This is a real testament to the amount of training and support you get when you join Exemplar Health Care.

In my role as Unit Manager, I manage one of the home’s ten-bed units. I ensure that we deliver the best possible care for the ten people we support and manage a team of around 30 Health Care Assistants, Team Leaders and Registered Nurses.

The best part of my role is being in a position where I can make sure that everyone has the care that they need, deserve and want.

It’s just a lovely environment to be in.
