We’re thrilled to announce that Hylton Grange care home, which opened in June 2023, has been awarded a 'Good' rating by Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its very first assessment.

The home achieved ‘Good’ ratings across four KLOEs, for how safe, effective, caring and responsive it is.

This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team, who’ve strived to create a nurturing, safe and high-quality environment from day one.

In particular, the report commended the home for its person-centred approach, stating that "people had access to a variety of activities and outside pursuits" and "felt listened to and were involved in the running of the service."

One person shared with the assessor: "For the first time I went outside on Sunday. They took my bed outside and I felt the sun and the breeze on my face. It was very emotional for me."

Another shared: "I have done painting. I asked the activities lady if I could paint with a brush in my mouth. I did it and I’m going to do it again.”

Commitment to quality care from day one

Home Manager, Donna Davidson, shares:

“From the beginning, our vision for Hylton Grange has been to create a home where people can truly thrive.

“Our person-centred approach ensures that everyone receives not just care, but compassionate support that enhances their quality of life.

“This 'Good' rating reflects our unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards in every aspect of our service.

“We’re particularly proud of the positive feedback received from service users, families and colleagues during the CQC inspection.

“Their voices are vital to our ongoing efforts to improve and innovate, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our community.”

Looking forward

“While we celebrate this milestone, we’re already looking ahead to the future.

“Our goal is to continue building on this success, striving for even greater heights in care quality.

“We extend our deepest thanks to our incredible colleagues, service users and their families for their trust and support.

“Together, we’ll continue to make Hylton Grange a place where everyone feels valued, respected and cared for.”
